Gold Coast Builders Association Hosts Economic Forecast

NAHB SR ECONIMIST AND REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR METROSTUDY TEAM TO PRESENT AN INDEPTH REVIEW OF NATIONAL AND LOCAL RESIDENTIAL ,MARKETS


West Palm Beach, Florida March 10, 2019:  

Gold Coast Builders Association will host their Annual Economic Forecast , featuring Chief  NAHB and Economist  and David Cobb Regional Director for Metrostudy on April 2, 2019 at the West Palm Beach Marriott.

Robert Dietz, Ph.D., is Chief Economist for The National Association of Home Builders, where his responsibilities include housing market analysis, forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research. Prior to joining NAHB in 2005, Robert worked as an economist for the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. He has testified before Congress on housing, economic and tax issues. He is a leading expert on home construction analysis and trends and has been cited and appeared on CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, and other news media. Robert is a native of Dayton, Ohio and earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University in 2003.


Dr. Dietz will provide an overview of economic and housing market conditions with an eye on residential construction impacts. He will review national and local macroeconomic factors affecting housing demand, industry-level detail on supply-side headwinds that are limiting

construction sector growth, and detail NAHB’s economic forecast. Particular emphasis will be on interest rates and actions of the Federal Reserve. Robert will also explore policy issues that affect housing supply and demand and affordability. A question and answer session will follow.


Mr. Cobb's professional experience spans over thirty years in the real estate industry. After graduating from the University of Texas, David was hired by a Houston based public home builder, and over the next several years, progressed through its construction management program to the position of Division Manager at New Orleans and Orlando.

For the past two decades, Mr. Cobb has managed multiple home building divisions in Florida. Areas of expertise include P and L responsibility, land acquisition and development, single and multi-family product design, supply chain, value engineering, finance and accounting, marketing, and professional sales associate training and development. Significant achievements include the organic start-up of the Engle Homes Southwest Florida division and the development of many well-respected master-planned developments in Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Naples.
